65 years of music - A song for each year with some honorable mentions added.

My 65th Birthday Music Playlist. A song from each year since I was born. Starting with 2015 and going back to 1950. This list will come with Liner Notes - written by me - when do you get Liner Notes - used to get them on the album covers on the inside flap.  Anyway starting off with a Rock/Hip Hop song.
2015 Feel Right - Mark Ronson  ft. Mystikal Uptown Special ............Everyone probably knows Mark Ronson's work with Bruno Mars on 'Uptown Funk'  Well this one is 10x funkier.  And the Video should be an award winner - Check it out at the following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ognnZ3r2qyQ

2014 Airwaves Ray Lamontagne The Gambler Soundtrack .........Heard this song for the first time at the end of the Gambler Movie which in my opinion was a pretty bad movie - but this song really caught my attention - glad I watched this bad movie till the end to catch this song.
2013 Suit & Tie featuring JAY Z  Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience..........Saw this first on SNL - great song - thought it would be the song of the year.
2012 Hold On Alabama Shakes Boys & Girls..........The Lead singer Brittany Howard  has such a great voice - bluesy, soulful with a bit of raspy Gospel.  First heard this on the Silver Linings Playbook Soundtrack which BTW was a good movie.
2011 The Walk Mayer Hawthorne How Do You Do..........Is this the new millennium Motown Sound?  Sounds like it came form the 60's - and this guy is from Detroit.
2010  Hey Soul Sister Train CD Single .........Catchy tune from a good Rock/Pop group.
2009 I Gotta Feeling The Black Eyed Peas The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies)..........What can I say - not only will tonight be a good night but the whole year will be a good year.
2008 I'm Yours Jason Mraz Sampler 001 Rock  --- Not a good year for music - in my opinion - but this one is good.

2007 Valerie  Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures --- I have not really followed or heard many songs by Amy Winehouse but this song is really soulful - there are a few versions but this is by far the best version.

2006 Ain't Nothing Wrong With That Robert Randolph & the Family Band Colorblind - Stomp the Yard Soundtrack --- Robert Randolph is a star - would love to see him live.  Heard this song at the end of the movie Stomp The Yard and was blown away.
2005 We Belong Together Mariah Carey The Emancipation of Mimi --- It sounds like Mariah Carey is crying the song instead of singing it especially the second verse.

2004  Yeah! Usher Feat. Lil' Jon & Ludacris Confessions --- Catchy tune - nice Rap ending - Yeah?.
2003  The Way You Move - Outkast - 2004 Grammy Nominees --- A few good songs from this album but this one is the best - redone a few times but this is the original and the best.
2002  Hot In Herre -  Nelly - Grammy Nominees 2003 --- Good Hip-Hop song - Nelly has done a lot of good Hip hop songs - this is the first that I've heard from him.

2001 Someone to Call My Lover - Janet Jackson Single Edit - I like this song - especially this version - with a sampling of America's Ventura Highway in the background.

1994 Stay - Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories - Reality Bites - In my opinion not a great year for songs but this one isn't bad - another soundtrack song.
1993 Memphis in the Meantime - John Hiatt - Bring the Family --- John Hiatt is one of my favorite artists/singer - songwriter.  This is a great album - has many great songs but this is the best along with Tennessee Plates.
1992 Solar Sex Panel - Little Village - Little Village --- Think about the concept - great song - Super Group too bad they didn't record more together.  John Hiatt, Ry Cooder, Nick Lowe, Jim Keltner.  BTW same group that recorded Memphis in the Meantime.
1992 Honorable Mention Dyslexic Heart - Paul Westerberg - Singles [Original Soundtrack] --- Part of the Singles Soundtrack - Very catchy tune and creative.

1976 Lowdown - Boz Scaggs - Silk Degrees - Great Song - Great Album - Boz Scaggs is one of my favorite artists and continues to be to this day.
1975 Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run - Well this album really made him famous.  I remember buying this album and I wasn't sure which song to listen to first - I looked at the songs and saw a bunch of guests and horns on '0th Avenue Freezeout' so I started with that song and continued listening to the whole album even to this day - and the opening song 'Thunder Road' is classic and is just a great start to the album.
