Stage 2 of Sephardi Mob South American Trip
Arrived in Buenos Aires - Its not as oppressively hot as Rio, and the atmosphere is more European. You're probably asking Where's the Beef? Well we surely had a taste of it last night courtesy of Glennie at La Brigada a local restaurant in the San telmo distract and very popular with regulars. Over the next few days we expect to visit museums - take a boat ride to Uruguay - and even have a picnic/casual dinner based on local specialties - which includes fine Argentine Wine. Stay tuned - fotos to follow..
Saturday in Buenos Aires
Us at the Show
Before the Tango Show on the Streets of San Telmo - Buenos Aires
Sunday - San Telmo Flea Market
We Walked from our Hotel to the San Telmo Sunday Flee Market - When we got there it started to rain so we decided to stop in a cafe to have some cafe con leche - juice and Empanadas. The Cafe La Puerto Rico was built in the late 1800's. Food and drink were delicious and our waiter looked to be about 85 years old but a real professional - Excellent service and its amazing how we all communicate without speaking each others language.Anyway after we finished and the rain stopped - I think we live a charmed life. So we headed to the Flee Market and started our bargaining.
Tango on the streets of San Telmo with Gardel - the man we saw a day earlier - He sure gets around.
And what would an Argentine Flee Market be without a Puppet show.
Next Stop - Caminito in La Boca - the oldest part of Buenos Aires. It has the colorful buildings and tango dancers in the street. A must visit on any trip to BA.
We Checked in at the Ferry Terminal for our 1 hour Boat ride to Colonia Del Sarmiento Uruguay. The Day was cloudy but as soon as we got to Uruguay it started raining - so we decided to get some brunch at a nice little cafe and wait out the rain - an hour later the rain stopped and we walked the cobble stone streets of Colonia and admired the Old Classic Cars. When film makers want to shoot scenes of Havana Cuba they come here because of all the classic autos.
