Yummy! at the Yummy House Bon Voyage Dinner
Tampa, Florida Friday, August 16, 2013
In Anticipation of our upcoming trip the Asia - Tokyo Japan and several parts of China we had our 3rd Bon Voyage Dinner celebrating this new adventure. As we've done in our past two trips we celebrate ahead of time at a local Ethnic Restaurant that represents the countries we are traveling to. This is becoming a tradition. We chose the Yummy House Chinese Restaurant in Tampa. It is one of the (if not thee) best Chinese Restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. Executive Chef Tommy Tang prepares original as well as traditional Chinese dishes. Denise and I were joined by Yvonne and Calvin and his sister Ronda, Brother in law Martin and nephew Preston at this dinner Bon Voyage Celebration. Our Waiter Jimmy was excellent - he brought us some our drinks - then the appetizers of very tasty Salt and Pepper Eggplant and Potstickers. Then the main course - family style consisting of beef, chicken, Duck, noodles and rice. It was delicious or as they say Yummy!!!

Travelin' fools- here we are in LaLa Land - nice to be back at LAX! .After checking into our wonderful Marriott, Our Hotel in LAhttp://images.travelpod.com/users/glennieboy8120/6.1377087437.11.jpg we walked for a mile or 2, and discovered a great local Mexican place ( would we ever find a tourist place? -- NOT!) on S. Inglewood - called La Feria. La Feria Mexican Restaurant We were warmly welcomed (before their 4PM dinner time) into an authentic Mexican style place- by an attentive waiter who brought us several frio cervezas,Denise Drinking a CervezaGlenn Drinking a CervezaGlenn inside the La Feria in Lennox Inglewoodfreshly prepared salsa & refried beans, chips and assorted condiments - magnifico!
Walking back the 2 miles or so thru S. Inglewood along Century Blvd. we built up an appetite, so we headed back to the Marriott concierge's 5:30 & 7:30 offerings of hors d'ouvres and desserts - heaven forbid we miss a meal - or 2 or 3 HAHA! Finally, we tucked into our room, full like fat cats and got a great night's sleep.
Now, with that description of yesterday, fast forward to us Denise on the shuttle to AirportGlenn on the Shuttle BusDenise and Glenn on the Shuttle Bus, now back at LAXDenise with her Luggage - waiting for our Tokyo flight- and here is a photo of Glenn- with a lousy bagel in hand, Glenn with Bagel at Airportcomplete with fake cream cheese spread - not even the real thing - getting one last fix of American food ( leave it to NYC for bagels- in LA it's great Mexican food!). Yes, foodies we are - I can only imagine what the fare in Tokyo will be-
To be continued.... Denise Typing the Blog hoping we will get the royal treatment during our 11 hour ride! Our Flight - 11 hours 20 minutesOur Flight to Tokyo
